THE HISTORY BEHIND THE MY DAY HER FUTURE INITIATIVE
In 2018, Eddy K began a partnership with Plan International Canada and its Because I am a Girl initiative to end child marriage.
A year later, the Eddy K team was invited to see the impact of Plan International’s work in the field with a visit to their Malawi Project.
We went to a health centre, a village clinic, youth groups, two boarding schools and a school for the visually impaired. We witnessed the hard work put into this country and the gratitude of those living in the region.
As an Italian family-owned business that works in so many international markets, this trip took our breath away.
Our business is about making brides feel as beautiful as possible on their special day, and Eddy K focuses on three elements to comprise this beauty:
- Beauty that comes from feeling magnificent in your dress;
- Beauty that comes the bride’s values and character; and
- Beauty that comes from a celebration, taking place at the right time, when a bride is full joy and in control of her decisions.
In 2020, we are doubling down on our commitment to end child marriage with a program to engage our entire community of sales representatives, retailers and the brides we serve.
We are tying our bridal gown sales directly to donation dollars so, together, we make can make and even bigger difference.
