“I have worked in bridal for over five years, so finding a wedding gown didn’t seem that special to me. I knew the ins and outs of the business, so I wasn’t expecting to have a grand “moment”. I was very realistic in my approach. I had purchased a gown and that was that. Fast forward a month or two and I took a job with Sharon Townsend, who is the owner of Tiffanys Bridal in Richmond Virginia. A few weeks into my new position, we hosted an Eddy K trunk show. A few gowns were on display at the front of the boutique. One caught my eye. I thought to myself, stop looking Ashley, you have a dress. I of course could not resist, and I picked Sydney up and carried her to the back room to try on.Wow. Ok. I was in trouble. I already spent over $1400 on a gown, and here I was, standing in this gown thinking about how I could get rid of the first one. I thought… ok. … let’s see. It’s the end of June. My wedding is in November. This gown isn’t even in production yet. What are the chances this baby could arrive in time? Low and behold the gods of the gowns were in my favor. I took a leap of faith and I got measured hollow to hem to make the gown as close to perfect as possible. It was done. I bought the gown, and I loved it. October comes.. no sight of the gown yet. October passed. No gown. First week of November comes, and around the 5th my gown arrived!! THRILLED. It was beautiful! I had alterations immediately and everything was perfect. On the day of the wedding, we went to Lou Stevens Glam Squad for hair and make up, then got dressed at the venue. Sandi, our photographer was perfect in every sense of the word. She captured the most beautiful images. Some of my favorites are the “first look” with my dad. I cried, because I’m a daddy’s girl:) . The honor guard from Bravo Company of the 266 QM BTN out of Fort Lee Virginia was wonderful . Such gentlemen, even when they swatted my bum with the saber to welcome me into the Army. It was the most beautiful evening of my life. To top it all off, I’m pretty sure I was the first real bride to get to wear this beautiful gown at her wedding!!” – Ashley
