A wedding dress was one of those things that I wanted to be perfect, but knew nothing about, and just hoped somehow it would be a dream come true without really having a process to get to THE ONE dress out of the thousands out there. A year out from the wedding date, I went to a bridal boutique in Pikesville, MD on a whim with one of my closest friends and bridesmaids, Tedi. I expected to try on maybe a dress or two just for fun and to say I finally understood what 5 lbs of tulle feels like, before going on our brunch date. Completely by chance, Eddy K. was doing a trunk show and it was Tedi who found the dress based on some VERY vague descriptives I mentioned – “unique”, “lace”, “slightly scandalous”, “low-back”, “maybe-not-completely-white” … and it was the first time I’ve ever immediately fell completely in love with an article of clothing. When it was finally on I felt completely at ease and like there was nothing else I could ever wear that would make me feel more like myself. It was exactly what I never knew I wanted and I was 100% sure this is what I would wear walking down the aisle. I told them to take my measurements right then and there and never looked back. Eddy K. outfitted me to be a beautiful, confident, happy bride and I wore that dress into the ground – it was too gorgeous to bustle.
