Petra met her husband when she was just in middle school. Petra was 15 and he was 18, she played in the softball team and he was in the baseball team. At first he didn’t pay much attention because he only saw her as a little girl. When Petra turned 18, things changed, the age difference was not a big deal anymore and they fell in love right away. After dating for 10 years, moving together to another country and all sorts of adventures, he proposed in the most romantic hotel in Stockholm.
Petra had lots of fun choosing her wedding dress. She gathered all her female loved ones and they went together to the salon. The second dress she tried was the EK1028 and it was everything she dreamed of: ballgown, sweetheart neckline, beading on top, a simple skirt and a belt to accentuate her silhouette. She tried on about 10 more but the decision was made. She paired her dress with a tiara and earrings matching her engagement ring. Not long before her wedding her grandmother passed away so she also wore a simple gold bracelet that used to belong to her.
To be honest, I tried on around 10 more dresses in different salons, but in the back of my mind I knew I was going to come back for this one, when you know you know. Future brides: trust your instincts!
The venue was a very elegant, regal place with a dash of gold Gatsby glamour so they decided to make that the theme, everything was decorated with a pallet of white, beige, blush and gold. The ceremony was held in the garden on a perfect sunny day and after they took lots of pictures, the reception was held indoors where they had a wonderful party surrounded by friends and family. Also, Petra and Peter’s first dance was perfectly coordinated and it was just like watching a princess marrying her prince.
For their honeymoon they spent a week in Playa Mujeres, Mexico and then New York City for 4 days.
My advice for future brides:
-
Try to enjoy every moment, don’t rush anything.
-
Check the venue, see all the details you’ve planned for so long
-
Talk to people. You might feel like you don’t have time for everyone but try to make time.
-
Eat a lot and don’t drink too much.
-
Wear comfortable shoes if you want to dance all night long.
