From the Bride:
I’m a plus sized woman. I went into dress shopping with a specific goal in mind: coverage. I wanted sleeves or straps, a covered back, and not too much “poof”. I figured, with my shape, the best thing I could do for my body would be to cover up and not stand out too much. After trying on about 5 dresses in the style I thought I wanted, I decided to try on things outside of my box. This dress was on a mannequin in the shop and I fell in love with the skirt and color. How could you not? When I put it on, I felt different. Different in the best way possible. I was confident in this gown. Strapless, ballgown, lower back, beaded, “poofy”…everything I thought a curvy girl couldn’t wear. My friends and family at the appointment could see it in my face: this was the one. I was giddy with excitement.
On my wedding day, I felt like a bride. A bride who was confident in her skin and ready to marry her best friend. Everyone gushed over the dress; wanting to touch it, to play with the skirt, asking where I got it…etc. I cannot imagine having gotten married in anything else.
Thank you, Eddy K, for my gown. I haven’t had it preserved or anything yet, because I can’t stop looking at it on the hanger. And, I’m not going to lie, I’ve put it back on a couple of times!
