From the bride:
The circumstances that led me to find my Eddy K dress were serendipitous and unexpected. After having tried on close to 50 dresses across 4 different bridal stores with my mom, who had flown all the way from Minnesota to DC (where I live) to help me find my dress, I was fed up with wedding dress shopping. While I had liked the dresses I’d tried on, I somehow still didn’t feel like any of them fully captured my personality or the style of wedding I wanted to have. Reluctant to visit any more bridal stores, I narrowed down my search to two dresses, and agreed to give myself one more weekend to decide which of them I would go with.Â
That weekend happened to coincide with my best friend’s wedding, which was to take place in Minneapolis. As maid of honor, I agreed to run some last minute errands with her around Minneapolis on the Friday before her wedding day, which included a stop at Che Bella, a bridal boutique in downtown Minneapolis, to try and find her some bridal jewelry. While there, my best friend, herself a former bridal store consultant, knowing I wasn’t 100% happy with any of my dresses suggested I try on one more. One of the bridal consultants at Che Bella mentioned an Eddy K dress that she thought I would like. I agreed to give it one last go and headed into the changing room.Noises of pure glee and giddiness fell out of my mouth when I first saw myself in the mirror. The dress fit perfectly – not just for my body, but for my personality, and for the vision I had for my wedding. Even though the fit-n-flare silhouette gave me the shape and structure I wanted, something about the dress was soft, ethereal. It did not overpower or take away from me like the other dresses had that I’d tried on. The soft champagne undertones of the dress made my skin glow, and the detailed lace overlay reflected exactly the earthy, romantic mood I wanted for my wedding. I knew it was my dress.
Thankfully, due to a last minute appointment cancellation, I was even able to come back later the following morning so my mom could see the dress on me before I flew back to DC. She knew instantly it was the dress for me, too. With zero hesitation, I bought my Eddy K dress right then and there!
