When deciding what to pick for your registry, you need to really analyze all the items you have in mind. How useful will they be for you, not for someone else. Things that you will actually use and need. Some of them can be kind of basic, but very often couples forget to register for those simple items that can be life changing. The key to this whole list: things that will not end up in the back of a closet accumulating dust for years.

1. Vacuum Cleaner

You can run but you can’t hide. Cleaning is something you will most definitely have to do. Take advantage of the opportunities in life. Since you won’t be paying for it. Try to get a real good vacuum, one of those that can get to all the annoying little places. But be smart about it, high prices don’t always mean it’s going to be the best quality. Go to a store and compare them all before making your decision.

2. KitchenAid Stand Mixer

This is definitely something you’ll appreciate having in your kitchen. Personally, I think is the best kitchen tool ever invented by mankind. You can use it from mixing cake batter to grinding meat to making ice cream. Available in many, many colors, it will give your kitchen an incredible artsy touch.

3. Nice towels

This is the perfect opportunity to make this upgrade. I’m sure you already have a couple of sets but I’m also pretty sure they’re not nice and soft anymore. You can even save them for special occasions where you just want to feel comfy. Believe me, this will make a difference.

4. Slow Cooker

This one has been on the rise of popularity for some time now. Even if you think this is a thing that will pass, the convenience of the slow cooker is undeniable.  You throw a bunch of stuff in there, set the timer, go do something else, and when you’re back, dinner is ready.

5. Bakeware Set

Where will you cook everything you mix in the wonderful KitchenAid Stand Mixer? In your beautiful new bakeware! Ask for a set and that way you’ll get everything in any shape and size. Even if you’re not baking something, you can use them to cook whatever you want in the oven. A muffin tin isn’t just for baking muffins, you can cook mini omelettes too. Unless you really don’t cook anything at all, this one is worth it.

6. Iron

Another thing you can’t hide from. This one is a necessary evil, I haven’t met anyone who enjoys ironing their clothes but you don’t want to go to work with a shirt that is as wrinkled as a raisin. Seize the opportunity and throw in an ironing board too.

7. Bed Sheets

Also worth upgrading. Believe me, you will feel the difference. They can be one of those things that you wash and just use again right away. You don’t want to miss the softness.

8. Dinnerware

Chances are, if you register for fancy china, it will end up taking a whole bunch of space and you will only want to use it when the Queen comes to visit. So don’t just put your money on display, register for a white dinnerware set that is both fancy and casual so you can use it everyday and will also look good on special occasions (and that way you don’t have to wait for the Queen to showcase you dishes).

9. Panini Grill

Who doesn’t love sandwiches? And a nice, warm, toasty one? Even better. You can keep this one on the counter and trust me, you will use it very, very often.

10. Knives

Even if you’re not a cooking fan, you will eventually need to cut something. It’s really worth the investment, with proper care, they can last a lifetime. It doesn’t need to be a big set like the one in the picture but you will need at least 5 knives in your set.
